General Information
Aside from brass and copper letters and company logos we find that zinc lettering and Corten steel lettering have become popular of late.
Brass lettering especially with a company logo is a statement, a sign of opulence maybe, brass is expensive and the yellow is gold like. Copper lettering especially when aged has a rustic warm charm. We do signs for Dewar’s Aged Whiskey in aged copper. Zinc letters and Corten steel letters are more of a rustic nature.
The grade of brass sheet we use to make brass letters is either CZ120, (59% copper + 39% zinc) or CZ108, (63% copper + 37% zinc). Grade CZ120 is easier to cut and make logos because it has an addition of 2% lead.
The grade of copper is C106, this 99.9% pure copper and good for general fabrication.
