High traffic areas such as door ways, lift door entrances, building entrances and corridors are noted for the amount of wall damage that occurs. Gymnasiums use a lot of wall protectors as do hospital corridors.

Aluminium Chequer Wall Corner Protectors and Sheets
For an appealing and robust metal that is very easy to install it has to be aluminium chequer plate. It retains its looks under hard working conditions. Typically 1.5mm thick for light to medium duty, 2mm being more robust and 3mm does take hard knocks and bangs. Hospital corridors and doors are often lined with aluminium chequer sheet where there is very high trafic in beds, trolleys, wheel chairs.
Swinging entrance doors where shopping and stocking trolleys regularly bang through is another good use of aluminium chequer. Walls and corners adjacent to lift doors need protection from baggage and suitcases.
Aluminium chequer is the easiest to install, it drills easily for screw fixing and it can be bonded

Corner angle covers are pressed up accurately on our CNC machinery, internal and external. If the wall corner is not 90 degrees we can bend the corner protectors to suit the angle.
Stainless Steel Wall Protector & Corner Protector Sheets
A costlier alternative to aluminium chequer wall protectors is embossed stainless steel.
The bubble finish on 5WL and larger bubble on 6WL embossed stainless sheets produces a reduced friction coefficient when objects are pushed along its surface, these sheets are often used on box chutes on conveyorized and manual systems to ease flow of boxes between operating stations. Its quite amazing how easily boxes can be pushed along a WL sheet.

Drilling fixing holes in stainless requires cobalt drill bits, we can predrill holes if required.
Galvanised Steel as Wall Protector & Corner Protector Sheets
Galvanised steel sheet is often used where appearance is not an issue and plain ruggedness is required, we often supply to warehouses for protection against fork truck and pallet truck damage. Stock sheets are available in 2000mm x 1000mm and thickness up to 3mm. The image above of galvanised above shows spangled finish, the current new stock has no spangle, just a grey galvanised finish, this is because of environmental legislation in Europe to ban the use of lead which used to be used in the galvanising process.
We cut to your sizes, press up internal and external corners to suit. Predrilled if required. If the wall corner is not 90 degrees we can bend the corner protectors to suit the angle.
Other Metals as Wall Protector & Corner Protector Sheets
Alternative metals that are used for wall protection are brushed stainless steel, plain aluminium, copper and brass. Copper and brass are expensive and tend to be used as features on walls, they will acquire patina through natural ageing along with patina from scuffs, scrapes and dints, so overall an aged distressed metal industrial look.
Extruded Aluminium Angles
Extruded aluminium angles are a further alternative for corner protectors. Usually these are equal angles, sizes range from 1/2″x 1/2″ x 1/8″ up to a chunky 6″ x 6″ x 1/2″. (in metric approx 12mm x 12mm x 3mm up to 150mm x 150mm x 12mm).
Stock lengths are 5 meters, we cut these down to your sizes and drill staggered fixing holes if required.
In areas where safety is a concern these angles can be supplied powder coated, Trafic Red, Trafic Yellow, Trafic Orange or other colour of your choice.
